It was the early 90s and Audi was carrying on the P1 project, what would later become RS2 and completed hand in hand with Porsche. It is basically an 80 Avant that borrows small but important bits from the Porsche catalog and puts under the bonnet a 2,226cc 5-cylinder turbo, able to deliver 316 horses and 410Nm of torque, obviously on both axles and managed by the Quattro four-wheel drive system through a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 911 964 series is the purest Porsche Turbo you will ever find: analog and completely dedicated to hurt you physically if you only think about being the boss, it must be respected and approached with caution. The 6-cylinder hanging behind the rear axle is a 3.3 with 320-horsepower and a big turbo, weighing nearly a ton and a half with the driver on board, and everything else depends only on how much pressure you will apply on the throttle. Once the self-preservation threshold has passed, the fun will begin, a mad race against everything that is rational and that surrounds us today, especially in the sports cars segment. There is no chance to tame it, the TURBO is the evil and more secret side than any self-respecting hero has to hide. But in the mirror, the shape of the blue RS2 is always there, the climb up the Mottarone is becoming a special stage that deserves fireworks on top …
