MX-5 Special: NA
When your sense of aesthetics meets the beauty of some details, when the desire to own something special is combined with a unique object of desire, and when passion leads us to realize a dream … then happens what happened to Elena! The British racing green 1997 1.6 MX-5 90 hp is now part of her family, quickly fell in love with the design of the very first series of the spider with almond-eyes, or rather with pop-up headlights, unique feature, in fact, for the first series called NA. Elena, since she bought it, did not make any mechanical or technical modification on her MX-5. The only concession is the chrome luggage rack, only for aesthetics taste. But was it love at first sight? “I was looking for a car of historical interest that came near to my age and ready to become vintage … and I love the retractable headlights!” Like all love stories, who knows how many happenings hide behind the MX-5: tell us one in particular: “I love going to the lake in summer with my MX-5, escaping the heavy air you breathe near Milan. I remember that Saturday night in August, heading towards Arona, I was with my boyfriend and we were so excited for a walk by the lake. Unfortunately, we were stuck in traffic, so patiently waited to enter the parking lot … until I saw some smoke coming out from the right light, so I looked at the water temperature and the needle was inexorably placed on the H. Without thinking even a second I turned off the car (in the middle of the road, still in traffic) and opened the hood to look for something broken, maybe a pipe … but everything was in its place, so I reached a parking nearby (again thank to the two guys who helped us ) and with the tragedy in my heart we went home by train. Then, the following Monday, we discovered that the failure was an oxidized motor fan !!! On Sunday I went back to check that no one had touched my MX-5 abandoned in the parking lot! My boyfriend still says today that I’m exaggerated: it may be, the point is that no one should touch my MX-5! If this is not true love!” Leaving aside the past and looking to the future, where would you love to drive your car? “I have no particular places, the important thing is to enjoy the journey in company of my MX-5!” How can you blame Elena ??
