Top Marques 2016: Look It, Drive It, Buy It!
If you like something, buy it! Life is one, we do not know how it lasts and should be lived to the end. But while it makes no sense to be the richest in the cemetery, often our finances do not allow us to put a € 450,000 watch on the wrist or a 2 and a half million Euros hypercar in the garage. That’s what makes Top Marques Monaco, the luxury event which is held annually at the Grimaldi Forum in the Principality, really special: when it comes to cars, you can get on board many of the jewels on display and have a drive up and down the F1 circuit, feeling the thrill of speed and the exclusivity to place your bottom on the seat of genuine supercars, often in limited edition. This year big space for tuning cars (and vans), with the streets of MonteCarlo literally invaded by traffic that sounded V8, V10 and V12, but also hundreds of spotters ready to capture the right car at the right time. Despite the reduced size of the pavilions, the adrenaline was certainly not at library levels, with a noisy test drive pit area and a delightful showroom inside, among modern cars, some classic, the protagonists of the last 007 chapter and the most extravagant proposals of the various Hamann, Brabus, Klassen, Mansory, Gemballa & company.
On the next issue of Auto Class, an analysis of what has impressed us most and a large gallery on the weekend that has officially open the motoring season in Europe’s coolest Riviera.
